CHRISTIAN MORA | General Manager
With sixteen years in the restaurant and service industry, Christian Mora has created a name for himself. He graduated from Florida Southern College with a B.A. in Sociology and went on to complete his Master of Science in Organizational Counseling from Tennessee State University. Completely on the forefront of innovation, he opened Pennsylvania’s first ‘no-tip’ restaurant, Girard Brasserie, in 2014. Workers are given a wage, paid sick days, vacation days, and health insurance. He has also worked with many notable chefs, including Masaharu Morimoto, Thomas Keller, and Jose Garces.
New to Sarasota, and now the General Manager of Louies Modern, here is his story.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY?
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE WONDERFUL HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY?
I wanted to work somewhere fun, a place that made people happy. So I applied to serve at Planet Hollywood and…they hired me.
IF YOU COULD PICK ONE AWESOME THING ABOUT WORKING IN HOSPITALITY WHAT WOULD IT BE?
It’s a fun career where you get to socialize with all different types of interesting people.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO MOST AS A MEMBER OF THE TABLESEIDE FAMILY?
I’d like to be at the cutting edge of what creating innovative concepts looks like. I look forward to continuing to champion the culinary ingenuity and craft cocktail programs that Louies is known for. I’m also excited to dissect every part of the guest experience to make sure we are creating memorable moments.
WHEN YOU ARE NOT AT LOUIES MODERN WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU?
In my music. I’ve been writing and performing music in various bands since I was 14 so that will always be a part of me. My music has been featured on various TV shows.
